Beverley’s recipe for Aubergine Parmegano is going to be famous.  It’s going into  Take 5 magazine in the Sunday Star this Sunday 7 March, along with  Beverley’s photo, maybe Beverley will be famous too?

I’m back in the Cookery Theatre at the Chiltern Easter Festival of Food this year, not sure what I’ll be cooking yet but I’ll be on at 11am, 1pm and 3pm and hopefully it will be entertaining.

In past years we’ve had a foot of snow outside, it’s been soooo cold that I’ve had the audience gathered round the hob trying to get warm – interesting trying to cook in fingerless mitts.  It’s been so wet that I’ve had to wear wellies, thank goodness you can only see me from the hips up as the wellies were caked in mud up to the knees, doesn’t give the right impression when you’re trying to be a professional chef.  I’ve already told David that I’m not doing spun sugar or anything else that needs a stable temperature and no damp, so the suggestions so far are:

lunchboxes – ideas on things to in them to make them less boring but easy and quick to make

Cooking as a family – may need to do a bit of audience particiation on this one to rope in some children to dem how to get the children involved with cooking a meal.

Easy but spectacular suppers – you’ll have to turn up and heckle if you want to find out more.

Please come and say  hello and heckle, I’ll give away recipes after the dem and everyone’s welcome to try the food, the event is great and they’re organising Easter Egg hunts for the children.

These are about to hit the UK with the wedding season almost upon us and we like to get in first with new ideas…….so Splat Cooking are very pleased to announce our very first Cupcake Bouquet workshop on Saturday 13 March from 2.30-4.30pm for children aged 7-13 years…………..’oh, that’s not fair’ I hear you shout, what about the adults.

Don’t panic, we haven’t left you out, you’ll just have to wait a little while, the adult workshop will take place on Friday 25 June.

These are relatively simple to make – I’m not going to tell you they’re dead easy for three reasons;

1.  You wouldn’t book on my workshop.

2.  You’d feel really awful if you found then difficult, wouldn’t want that.

3.  Depends how confident you are at icing – come to our workshop and I’ll boost your confidence, promise.

So, book quickly, these are going to be super popular.

We are excited to announce our next Franchise Discovery days are Saturday 20 March and Saturday 24 April from 2.30-5.30pm, our March is almost full and we’re taking booking already for the April date so please make sure you book early if you’d like to attend either day.

Beverley Glock, our very own Celebrity Chef is hosting a Cookery Demonstration in The Manor House kitchens, Princes Risborough on Friday 11 December, 7.30pm for 8pm to raise money for Helen House Children’s Hospice in Oxford.

Beverley will be showing you how to make a range of sweet and savoury Canapes suitable for Christmas and New Year entertaining, to help her along the way will be Bertrand from Cave a Vins in Bourne End. Bertrand will be running some wine tasting in The Great Hall after Beverley’s dem, and supplying Beverley with wine for mulling. Tickets are £20 per person and include a glass of mulled wine and the canapes that Beverley has prepared. Numbers are strictly limited due to space in the kitchen and are on a first come first served basis.
