Chocolate – its Divine…..

by Victoria Whittard on July 31st, 2010

So, it was a Wednesday afternoon, I had been away for a week or so and in my absence a box with my name on it had arrived…..Sarah our highly efficient office manager had opened it to see if there was anything she needed to action.  What she found inside was a test – it was going to require a great deal of self control and to her credit she passed – for inside, nestled in some lovely red packaging were numerous bars of Divine Chocolate.  Efficient as ever, Sarah hid them from Beverley in a cool place ready for my return (thank you Sarah).  Back to last Wednesday – I arrived at the office – daughters in tow – for the great Divine Chocolate tasting session – what a joyous day at the office we had – my daughters think coming to the office is the best thing ever, last time it was a stock take (children enjoy that sort of thing) and this time chocolate tasting!!  So we each tried a small piece of each bar and carefully made our tasting notes – my daughters enjoyed the dubble bar, the white and the 85% bar.  Sarah’s top marks went to the bar with the mint chips (she even managed to persuade me that as a reward for keeping my chocolate stash safe she should take the rest home to share with her man – I saw the sense in what she said and reluctantly agreed).  Peter, our IT guru then arrived on the scene and quickly snaffled the ginger and orange bar and rapidly disappeared again to savour it uninterrupted – reporting later that it was totally yummy.  That left Beverley and I to decide on our top favourite, the milk was good, the white deliciously sweet, the bars with nuts, strawberries and raspberries all very good, coffee was up there too but it was the 85% bar that truly won our hearts – it is the fantastically strong flavour that is so smooth and yet completely without any of the bitterness that you might find in other bars, it was a bar of chocolate that just could not be surpassed – yes – the 85% ruled the day and will now be a firm and regular favourite in my shopping basket…….try some…….and let me know what you think……
