Great Ormond Street Hospital – Celebrity Recipe Book

One of my regular customers, a lovely lady called Meg Sussman, emailed me a couple of days ago asking if I’d contribute a recipe for a recipe book her daughter Georgie (aged 12) is putting together to raise money for the Cupcake Ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital.  A friend of Meg’s daughter Lucy, who’s 4 years old, has a condition called Hypothalamic Hamartoma and it’s Lucy’s bravery after undergoing so many operations and so much treatment that has prompted Georgie to raise funds for the ward.

Georgie is making cupcakes to sell but as she wants to raise £10-12,000 she realises that it’s not practical to make quite that many cupcakes so she’s had the idea of putting together a recipe book and getting lots of celebrities to contribute their favourite recipes.

I’m donating a recipe and have persuaded Nigella Lawson, although she didn’t need much persuading as it’s for such a good cause, as well as Lotte Duncan to contribute recipes too.  Meg also has recipes from Pixie Lott, Boris Johnson, Katie Caldesi, Anthony Worrall-Thompson, Santa Montefiore, Gale Gand, MegCabot, Sophie Dahl, Jools Oliver and Mel C so hopefully the sales will raise sufficient funds to make sure Georgie can buy the extra family beds, books, shelves and other items for the Cupcake Ward.

We’re going to put together a Cupcake Kit to go with the book to raise funds too so watch this space, we’ll let you know how to get your hands on a copy soon……
